Spelling matters. It always has, it always will. Bad spellers are routinely caught and branded 'idiots' by someone who understands how much it matters, whether you like it or not. Even the shittiest speller will feel smug and insufferably superior if they catch someone else's spelling mistake. I doubt the Twitter generation cares because Twitter's functionality is not conducive to literacy. Only Twitter's Rich and Famous account holders seem to pay attention to spelling. If the 'yoot' of N. America can't see vowels in words longer than four letters, they won't see the irony in the above. So fuck it. Do what you want, kids.
