*gasp* Remember Sea Monkeys? I wanted them so bad, but my mum wouldn't let me get them. She's a wise woman, but I was an odd kid and sometimes I wanted odd things. As the man says, your parents insistence that these things are rip-offs only ever make you want them more. However, it always goes beyond that. You know they don't do anything, but they look cool and when I was growing up I didn't take any cues from TV and we didn't have the internet to kill our imagination.
You know, I'm glad I grew up where and when I did...

And here's Thing Number Two...
I love the fact that I get to be with someone I love immensely. Sometimes I give him a hard time for the lack of romance in our relationship but you can be sure that there's no lack of love in it.
I know what love is. I know what it's not, and exposure to trite, xylophone-laden songs about chickenshits who just can't seem to row themselves to the flowery, maiden-speckled shore of true love make me so tired. 'I Am a Rock' is a bolder and superbly written song that also admits that it sucks to be dead inside but doesn't make a grown, bitter man sound like a histrionic tween girl. There are lots of songs like that, actually...
I'm gonna go home and listen to The Mighty Q. Have a great weekend, folks.
